As many of you know, I'm a father of two beautiful daughters. We recently took a short trip to Chicago, IL and we had an absolute blast, but one of the things that struck me about the experience was how often we ran into work that either was, or was fabricated to look like, reclaimed wood.
As a maker, one becomes very intrigued by the way things are put together. I make a habit of sneaking looks under tables to see if I can find a brand mark or name, and I often share thoughts about work well done.
That being said, I also get frustrated when I run into work that I would never let out of my own shop. This weekend I saw plenty examples of both.
